A labia minora is a soft tissue around the entrance to the vagina. The size and shape of the labia minora differs between individual. Some women do have an unusually large lip and hyperpigmentation (too dark) that tends to emerge out beyond the labia majora gives discomfort when one wears tight-fitting jeans and causes a discomfort during a coitus. The large, hyperpigment, and redundant labia minora not only cause discomfort when doing a lot of various strenuous physical exercises, during wears tight-fitting jeans, during a coitus but also give the meaning that this structure passed a lot of work and looks like the organ of aged woman which unsightly.
Surgical procedure
The labiaplasty is the procedure to rejuvenate it, to make it smaller by reduce the size and remove the hyperpigment part (dark area). The procedure is the minor operation, normally it will be done in the clinic under local anesthesia, very little pain during injection of anesthetic agent only, no feeling of pain during the operation, and takes time about 45 minutes, the suture materials are absorbable, (do not need stitches removal), can be performed as out patient case, do not need admission. The healing process takes time about 1-2 weeks. The pain after operation is little, you can have normal activities and can return to use for intercourse after 3-4 weeks and can not swim for 5 days because when the wound stay under the water it can have infection, it is not safe for healing but when the water pass during shower is no problem, so you can clean and shower as normal.
Before operation
Inform us about any allergies, any serious medical condition(s), and all medications you are taking (both prescription and non–prescription). Avoid aspirin and aspirin–containing medicines for one week prior to surgery.
